Scheduling EL Inspection Inside the Annual Outage Maintenance Window

ⓘ This article is currently published in Chinese. An English version is being prepared — read the Chinese original.

Every PV plant schedules an annual outage for electrical testing, cleaning, and torque checks - and that outage is also the cheapest moment to run an EL inspection, because the strings are already offline and the generation loss is already booked. This article walks through how to sequence EL work inside a maintenance window: which jobs should run before EL (torque checks and any work that stresses modules) and which after, how to split crews so EL runs in parallel with switchgear testing instead of extending the outage, how to choose between string-level EL survey, handheld daytime EL re-checks, and drone-based imaging depending on plant layout, and how to turn the resulting images into a year-over-year baseline. It also states the honest limits: when adding EL to an already tight outage plan is not worth it, and what a minimum useful EL scope looks like when time is short.
